Title:

Scheduling problems in local energy communities.

Abstract:

Energy communities, in which direct transactions between neighbors is allowed, are in general equipped with both distributed generation units, mainly from photovoltaics, and storage units. The optimal scheduling of the local resources favors the local balance between production and consumption during the day, with the advantages for the network of improved efficiency on the one hand and reduced use on the other. However several aspects need to be considered: new specific planning procedures for both users involved in a community and for grid investments by the utility, the scheduling and control of the community resources, the definition of energy prices and network charges for neighborhood energy trading, possibility for the community to provide services to the network. This presentation is aimed to describe some models that could be useful for the operation of energy communities and distribution networks where trading between neighbors becomes significant.
