Research Experience:
Prof Z.Y. Dong is a (SHARP) Professor in Energy Systems at UNSW. He is also Director of UNSW Digital Grid Futures Institute, and Director of Australian Research Council Research Hub for Integrated Energy Storage Solutions. His research expertise includes power system planning and stability, smart grid/micro-grid, load modelling, renewable energy grid connection, electricity market, data analytics, artificial intelligence and computational methods for energy systems. He served as Ausgrid chair and director of Ausgrid Centre for Intelligent Electricity Networks to provide R&D support for the $100m (plus $500m from Ausgrid) Smart Grid, Smart City national demonstration project. He has been serving as editor for several IEEE transactions and IET journals. He has won many research and industry grants nationally and internationally. Prof Dong has published over 400 journal papers with H-index of 77 (Google Scholar) or 62 (Scopus). He is a Fellow of IEEE. He is in the 2019 Clarivate Analytics list of Highly Cited Researchers.
